What is this all about?

What is Girlie Green all about?

Inspired by a way to create fun clothing for kids with little impact to the environment, Girlie Green is a clothing line created completely from repurposed clothing and fabrics. Mix together multiple seam rippers, scissors, a sewing machine, a pile of used clothing and fabrics...add some insight, vision, sweat and love...and you end with an original, one-of-a-kind creation that puts the fun back into children's clothing.

Soon To Be On Artfire.com

After some hemming and hawing, here I am, posting some pictures of some projects I have finished and am now awaiting to be able to post on Artfire (long story).

Butterfly Flutter
size 4T/5T

This dress was created using a pair of ripped, sequined brown pants; a stained, plaid flutter skirt; and a butterfly-patterned shirt complete with holes.  The straps are adjustable and the back is elastic so this unique dress can be cinched or let out as you please.

Flo's Daughter
size 18 months

This dress, created from an overall top and leftover fabric from an long ago quilt, is said to remind others of something Flo from Mel's Diner's daughter would have worn.  The heart on the front is an actual pocket. Can be worn as-is in the summer or with a turtleneck and leggings in cooler weather.

Sassy Muppet
24 months/2T

This dress/shirt is created from a furry pink sweater and sleeves from a floral, wispy shirt.  Can be paired with jeans or leggings...cutie patutie.

Little Cape Cod
size 3T/4T

After removing the broken zipper, this acrylic sweater was begging for some repurposed plaid shorts trim and buttons from a stained dress.  So sweet!

Stay tuned while I battle the size of my pictures to upload to Artfire...meanwhile feel free to leave a comment below!
